What products has Symantec bought and killed?
-
-
the original NORTON line of products
-
All of them?
-
It look like they don't devolop anything. They just buy companies out and completely destroy previously good products
-
I used to love Sygate, used it until they screwed it over.
-
Pretty much. Also Procomm

It'd be difficult to dispute that, they certainly seem to have a talent for breaking things

FWIW BackupExec used to be freaking awesome... a decade ago....
-
Not that there is a need for it anymore but PCAnywhere

Does PCAnywhere still exist? I have not heard about that product in a dog's age (or more.)

Norton Commander... where are you, buddy? Ghost? pcAnywhere? Dudes...
BTW, just found this: http://www.laplink.com/index.php/en/testlist/1311-laplink-offers-solution-to-users-affected-by-security-breach-of-pcanywhere
LapLink is also something we used... in the early 90's

Norton Commander... it's been a while since I have heard that name!

I do use mc (Midnight Commander) on *nix from time to time. Not often anymore, but it's still around. Total Commander for Windows has a cool mass file rename feature that comes in handy at times.

Most recent thing like that that I have used is muCommander on Mac OSX.
