Maybe one of the new AmpliFI HD Mesh Router's? Amplifi Router 5 LAN ports and 1 WAN, I'm not seeing size or weight on the site.

Customs might have a problem with it? Tell them its your Mifi hotspot and they shouldn't have a problem with it. Business people travel with them all of the time.
They look like commercial gear, though. They don't look homemade. How it looks is all that matters to border control.
Not just border patrol.

From the Amplifi datasheet (found it), 3.91"x3.85"x3.92" and 14.46oz.
For those that don't know, Amplifi is Ubiquiti's new line of products aimed at the home market.

For travel, it seems like the cheapest, smallest thing that does the trick is the best option. You want something you don't care much about.
-
That probably makes the most sense. I'm going to look into what the cheap Tenda will cost tomorrow, and if it is available just at the store.

Hello,
I usually use Mikrotik gear for this purpose. They have small, cheap, but very capable routers. They have integrated antennas, small footprint, very light. Look at https://routerboard.com/products/group/20

I forgot about them. I don't suppose there is a handy place to get them on Sicily?

There are few in Italy, not sure who's from Sicily -

You'd have to wait, but Dominica can bring it back with her in 2-3 weeks.

We've been considering that. That's why we are looking right now, if we are going to order something in the US, then we need to do so and get it shipped to her hotel ASAP.

That $28 model looks pretty decent. How is the wireless range on it? Plugging straight into the wall is a pain as we need adapters for everything and European plugs tend to be really loose in rentals.
