Not sure where he's located. Was it Illinois? I can 't remember.
VA
Ok, got it.

How did it go?

They wanted to consider hiring me for it and move me on to the next stages but it only paid 28k, so yeah no way. I'm pretty dead set on $45-48k as a min for Sys admin job.

$28K isn't even Jr Sys Admin. Heck, that's not even most L1 jobs!!!

@ajstringham I know my first technician job was $32k. It's probably because it's on a college campus with a bunch of new graduates always looking for a job and will take any pay I bet.
-
I would seriously take a retail job at $25k before I'd ever even consider either a jr sys admin or a systems admin job at 28k. It's kind of insulting. but, I guess Mr. Head football coach needs his $2,300,000.00/year (before bonus) so everyone else gets less.

That's really common. Probably not work talking to colleges. They have a really skewed view of the world. All of Austin has that problem - a whole city oversaturated with recent college grads willing to take minimum wage so that they can stay in the city because it is awesome.

Stupid people. I get wanting to stay in a geographical place. However, if you can't find something ample, leave. Unless you have obligations here, like family responsibilities, then you have no excuse.
