Well the title says most of it, I am abit youngster in the I.T admins lounge was usually 1st or 2nd tier help desk I.T.

Lately I feel like I have to check the network equipment and server more than one time, even if its something I know I did safely previously and it should run 99.99999% fine, but I have to check it and then check it again after some time and maybe on weekends.

Is this normal for you guys or I take it too seriously and cause it is my first I.T admin/supervisor job.

I hope this effect goes away eventually, or is that what makes a good I.T admin ???

I will admit it never hurts to second guess yourself and make sure things are done right... But checking it again on the weekends... Hmm... That may be leaning slightly towards OCD... or maybe full tilt. You decide.

It'll go away (or at least reduce a lot) eventually but it's not really a bad thing. I firmly believe it shows that you actually care. Just don't let it take over your life.

Maybe BUT.... consider building monitoring systems until your OCD goes away. Don't think of it as having OCD, think of it as needing better alerting. Build proper monitoring and alerting until you feel that you can relax!

Once you bring down something production as a young tech, you will never do it again.

                Are you certain of that?

Might be the start of a career-long trend.
