Our York Society for Strategic Gaming was a big deal back around 1992 and 1993. It was the biggest and most active club in the school and the only one running its own news letter. Only club to meet once a week, too and it met five days a week!

"Que Using Visual Basic 5 Second Edition, Special Edition"

Yup, for some reason we still had a V.92 modem kicking around in the closet. No idea why. I'm getting basically everything you see here thrown out now. Time to clean all of this stuff out.
-
So many books from the VB 4, VB 5 and VB 6 eras.
"Wrox Peter Wright's Beginning Visual Basic 5"

Yeah, that's the reason why I don't like IT books. They are like computers, outdated the second you put them in the basket.
I have like maybe 10 myself, mostly reference books. I do stick to Google for the most part.

The move away from dialup is what killed the IT book industry. When you've got so much information available via a search engine, books became outdated before they get printed

I think a lot of it was a culture of feeling that books were antiquated. But material that is good in books and material that is good online are not often the same.
