VOIP does not work out of the box at all Really bad call quality issues.
VoIP doesn't work with Ubiquiti? We use these all of the time never seen an issue.
Not out of the box it doesn't. We had to set them up to work well.
Oh? what kinds of changes?

2 oddities.
Crackling/clicking noise during the call
If I speak, the caller audio goes silent -

Gone from a dumb netgear Gigabit switch 8 port to the Ubiquiti 24 port lite.
Swapped back to the netgear, things are fine. The Ubiquiti is doing something odd.
Oh sorry, switch not router? We have NOT testing VoIP on a Ubiquiti switch. We use their routers all the time, they are our top choice.
Is this EdgeSwitch or Unifi Switch?

Out of the box they don't do anything, there is no out of the box with enterprise routers

This whole thread was about their switches
24 port, EdgeSwitch lite.

Oh yes, sorry. Didn't read the title again. Okay, so exact same switch that we have in the lab (or we have the 48, I forget, but same thing). We have the one with 10GigE uplinks because our main lab environment is all 10GigE but the end devices are, obviously, GigE.

We've got an Elastix 4 box on that switch, we could have @Mike-Ralston do some testing.
-
I've ran a few test calls over my EdgeSwitch I got without an issue... I won't know if we have an issue until the offices that switch service are finished.
-
Now it's running smooth as anything. I enabled auto VOIP on the switch and that was it.
I don't like auto modes as I don't know what they do
-
Going to pop it into a network, see how it does handling all the desktop traffic to the server.

@Minion-Queen is not, we don't have those switches where she is referring to.

that's weird and concerning. Why would that be needed?

My thoughts exactly. Trying to read up on what it does.

@Breffni-Potter I think it can auto COS and auto VLAN...

We have client with them. And while I didn't do the configuration I remember there needing to be one

Orange = 10/100
Green = 1000Why you do this to me?
-
Forgot to say. It's in and done. Will see how it does for a week.

Question would you use the EdgeSwitches everywhere? or just at the core of the network.
I need to replace some un-managed dumb switches with managed to deploy some VLAN stuff. But would you use a EdgeSwitch or stick with something like a Netgear L2+ Managed switch (that is more or less same price?)
