I noticed the same things. I try to follow a lot of people and today I've gotten more notifications than usual.

Not just us. Spiceworks is crazy busy too. And good conversations. It seems to have all happened last night around five and is still going.

Does the inbox tray at the top not give notices for ALL new threads and posts? If so, I've only received around 40 notices today.

That can't be right, I'm not following anyone (I just looked). Several things 'in the box' where new posts from today.
Now the number 40 is somewhat misleading. If a thread had say 40 posts in it, it would only be in the inbox list once, with the most recent post to that thread.
