NASA confirmed the ocean's existence using the Cassini spacecraft, which arrived to study the moon in 2004. Two of Jupiter's moons, Europa and Ganymede, also contain subsurface oceans.

I have an earthquake alert app on my phone so I got the alert straight from the monitors, before it was in the news.
