    • RE: Why do my dom0s have only 600MB RAM?

Lack of Ram, not a problem. Each host has 128GB. someone forced the hosts to use 608MB. I changed them last night per Citrix document, but set it to use 3G. See if that solves the problem. Was hitting less than 20MB free during normal operations, that is bad. Now it is not.
http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX134951 --should be using between 1024 MB and 4096 MB.

      per
      Instructions
To configure the dom0 memory, complete the following procedure:

On the XenServer host, open a local shell and log on as root.

      Enter the following command:
      /opt/xensource/libexec/xen-cmdline --set-xen dom0_mem=<nn>M,max:<nn>M
Note: <nn> represents the memory in megabytes, to be allocated to dom0. This value should be between 1024 and 4096, depending on the number of VMs that are expected to run and the total memory of the host. A higher value results in less memory being available to the VMs.

      Example : /opt/xensource/libexec/xen-cmdline --set-xen dom0_mem=4096M,max:4096M
Note: The above command will set the dom0 memory to 4GB or 4096 MB.
      User-added image

Reboot the XenServer host using XenCenter or reboot command on the console.
After the host is rebooted, run the command free on the console to verify the new memory settings.

@scottalanmiller Stuff like that should happen more often. Fixing corruption, incompetence and laziness in government starts at the local level, not at the top.

I could start a very long rant about the incompentence of Seattle's leaders, but i wont as i am sure it is the same where everybody else lives. Vultures, all of them.

      @scottalanmiller @Lakshmana
Ah, if that is the case then there is an option to use the NT Offline PW reset bootable iso and change the local administrator pw or blank it. You can then login as the local administrator, and remove the pc from the domain using that account.
That would then require the object to be deleted from AD manually some time in the future. the pc would then also need to be renamed as well I think if you wanted to rejoin it.

    • 1 Graylog server, 2 XS hosts, 4 Million messages/week

Here is the top ten message generators in my XS 6.5 production environment(2 hosts) over 1 week of time
Seems like quite a bit of syslog action going on all the time in XS.

    • Previous Versions removed recently from Windows 10... i think.

Earlier this year I hooked up an external drive to my win10 workstation at work. Then had a robocopy job going every night to copy some server shares there(also have unitrends, just wanted previous versions of some of these shares for testing). Made a rule to make a previous version of a folder 2x a day. This was working for months, and in fact I am fairly certain I used this to restore a folder a user deleted on accident just a few weeks ago.
Today I go to the external drive and right click>restore previous versions. 'No Previous Versions Found" I go into Control panel>System>System Protection, where system protection is set to Off for both 😄 and external drive.
So ive lost my restore points. Not a big deal. I turn them back on. Now there is no way to set a schedule of these restore points like there used to be; that incredibly confusing task scheduler just for this, the one that made no sense at all(The duration must be greater than the repetition interval) but at least it worked.
Now the option is totally gone. You have to manually make 'Restore points' from the System Protection cpl, or use File History(which is infinitely worse than Previous Versions, btw)
I suppose I can add a scheduled task/powershell to make these restore points happen 2x a day.
Seriously MS how the hell do you do something like that and not mention it to ANYBODY.
My bet this was taken away with the anniversary update.

If I am wrong please let me know. Because File History is just so bad I wont use it.

Before you do anything else, make sure you have the root pw for your xs servers as disabling AD integration will force you to use them.
