Well, what is the primary purpose of AD? I'd posit that access control and policy distribution are among the primary things. If we continue out the vision of AD into Azure, combine in ActiveSync policies, and allow for Microsoft's vision of one Windows we have something that could be used to exert control over every platform while providing a unified experience. Not exactly the same experience because of differences in UX and interface, but one that is familiar regardless of the device in front of a user. It is a long view though. Right now, there is little reason to integrate mobile devices into AD.

RE: Lumia Icon reportedly retired by Verizon
@Dashrender Both the 530 and 630 support up to 128 GB SD cards. I don't know about the 735 though. It may as well.

RE: Lumia Icon reportedly retired by Verizon
@Dashrender Just get one that has an SD card slot. Then you can use it as a media device if you don't use at as a phone. It is cheaper than an iPod Touch.

RE: SpiceWorld 2014
@JaredBusch You can add your input here: http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/592878-spiceworld-austin-suggestion-thread. I'm hoping that the more people we get piling the more likely it is that they will listen. I've heard the same things after every Spiceworld, and it seems like it will take a more concerted effort to get things changed.

RE: NTG Hits the Road to Austin
Drive safe y'all. Having done a CA by way of IL (from CO) trip I know how long those miles/hours can get. On the bright side, nothing you drive through will be as boring as Nevada in August.

RE: Updating to iOS 8
Once you get it done you can get an awesome free book in iBooks (this is one of two reasons why I updated my iPad2). "The Way of Kings" by Brandon Sanderson. Epic fantasy done right.

@Kelly , I'm not opposed to the idea. Just most counselors wouldn't help.
Fair enough. You have to be in the right place, with a good counselor (doesn't necessarily have to have specific background on you) for it to work. It took me years before I was in the place.

RE: tired
@ajstringham Have you ever considered counseling? When I can't sleep, or do things to avoid sleeping it is generally because I'm fundamentally unhappy about something I don't want to think about. So I stay up gaming, or surfing, or reading, or... just so I'm so exhausted that I finally fall asleep without any of that brain-shutting-down-thinking-about-crap time period. I realize I'm not on some of the meds you are, and that definitely contributes, but something to ponder.
And counseling is not something bad. I know a lot of people, me included, look upon others as somehow not good enough if they had to do counseling. The truth could not be further from that. The reality is that there are many issues that we are incapable of dealing with internally and need outside help. There are a lot of scenarios where that help cannot come from someone we know.

RE: Huzzah for Me!
Congrats A.J. If nothing else, the experience dealing with politics and keeping your cool under pressure will be worth it.

RE: What are you listening to? What would you recommend?
If I'm feeling like listening to something really soulish (moves me deeply) I break out the Flyleaf. I haven't found another group (not including their newest album as I haven't had the heart to listen to it) that is more lyrically raw without being whiny. On their first album they have a song written by the lead singer about her experiences with cutting. In the last album with that same lead singer she wrote a song about how the music industry will chew you up and spit you out.
The ones that are hitting me right now are:

RE: Hey Siri, Meet Cortana!
@ajstringham As a gamer I approve of the name. As an IT Pro trying to get my users to unify on something I dislike the choice. Of course, most of my users have no idea what the reference is to, so it may be moot.

@ajstringham Wots dis fazebuk you talkin 'bout?

RE: Hey Siri, Meet Cortana!
I'm a Windows Phone guy, and having better voice control would be awesome. Calling it Cortana though...not really professional implications there. It seems like 2 steps back after MS' one step forward with WP8.1.
