Looks like SlingTV would only get me part of the way there since it doesn't carry the major networks (CBS, NBC, ABC, and FOX). Hmm

RE: TV/DVR without Timewarner, Verizon, Comcast, etc
The only things I use cable for are sports: football; American football; the Olympics; etc. If I could get channels that supplied those things and get rid of cable I would be so happy. /me goes off to search for SlingTV to find out what it is.

RE: Glad I didn't take the week off
I love my shirt like that one. I wear it frequently. I should wear it over another so it would be...wait for it...redundant.

RE: Different color do-dads.
They're colored based on the group the thread is posted in.

RE: What are your sales email no-nos?
With regards to jumping on a call, I have the opposite problem. I have an account rep/manager/executive with a well known three letter VAR who refuses to communicate with me via email. He is always calling me and asking me to call. I generally don't have time to spend half an hour listening to him ask me about my "upcoming projects or initiatives".
Of course he didn't help himself when I asked for a VMware standard licensing quote with pricing being the most critical factor and he quoted me Standard with Ops Manager and dollar figures that aren't even within shouting range of my budget.

RE: Ticket System
I'm attempting to use Jira ServiceDesk. I'm having mixed success. I'm going to keep on with it for awhile since it is up and running, and I don't have the bandwidth available to evaluate something else. I'd probably be looking at a Linux based solution when I get to that point.

RE: Did Avatars Just Vanish?
I still cannot change my avatar away from the power button thingy. I have reuploaded my image, but after I hit save on the change it keeps reverting to the above. Any thoughts? I'm on Chrome with Great Suspender and uBlock running.

RE: Juniper Networks - Oh Great...
Thankfully this is in ScreenOS and not in Junos (no extra long day for me), but it makes me leery in general.

RE: Amazon 100 Buck Gift card oh which tablet to get
I'm with @scottalanmiller. The value to dollar ratio on the 7" Kindle Fires is amazing. If you're a Prime member the value goes up significantly since you can download Prime programs for offline viewing. That being said, it will never be anything more than a consumption device, and if you're anticipating doing any higher level gaming it may have some issues.

RE: MangoCon Is official!
Some questions:
-
What is the time frame on an agenda?
-
Are you looking for people to run sessions, and if so what is necessary to be considered?
-
What are the benefits for teaching (other than LI bling)?

@RojoLoco what about Airtran? It used to be, back when I lived in Rochester, that Atlanta was nearly free.
I can't select dates in Sept 2016 on their site, but a quick search shows about $450 round trip, multiple stops (a deal breaker for me). I might just drive over 2 days, even friggin Amtrak costs $500.
That's funny. It is $355 flying from DEN through ATL to ROC.

Great, thanks for all the input. I appreciate it.

RE: Proxmox, Mirantis Openstack, KVM, oh my
So what is it about XenServer that makes it preferred over KVM particularly for Linux workloads?
