Guide for VM Server Migration...
Hi Team
So I was wondering if anyone has posted before, or can create a step by step (basic level) guide of how to migrate a VM.Let me explain... I have an environment with approx 50 users and they use HyperV with three VM's running: (1xDC, 1xFileServer, 1xSQL Server).
I have a unused server with relatively good spec just lazing around so i'd like to put it to good use and do some testing, breaking and fixing on it. A couple of things i'd like to test/demo/try....

taking those 3x VM's and migrating them to the demo/test sever.
Excuse my ignorance but could I quite simply copy those VDHX files from inital server, put them onto the new and spin them up (after matching the IP settings etc)? I was wondering if there was any simple guide on this someone has posted before? Is it as simple as that? -
Once I have those 3x VM's running, I'd like to then test replciating the server to an Azure environment - I appreciate there is more involved with his perhaps but I believe using the Windows Admin Centre tool - there are some links which will help me with this so for now (unless others again have a good guide on this), I'd like to start with part 1 and simply migrate those VMs from one server to another...
Is there any usefil tips/tricks/guides on this floating around?
Thanks -

RE: Folder Redirection - GPO - W7 to W10
@Dashrender Always giving me sound advice. Thanks Dash. I actually figured this out whilst on site earlier today and just saw your responses.
Adding the computers into the security group we had for FolderRedirection and forcing a GPO update did the trick. Cheers -
VMWare - VM Boot Problems
Hi Team
I have an issue with an old VMWare server. There is a host VM (DC01) which fails to boot.
Its stuck in a automatic repair loop and I dont know how to get out of it.I noticed (see pic attached) it says 'VMWare Tools' - Not Running - is this part of the problem?
I have a sneaky feeling, i may need to look at running the mbr boot rec steps but my query is - what are the steps in doing this? It's been a while since last done - I can google but wondered if there was anyone here with VMWare experience who can assist or provide some troubleshooting steps. Thanks

RDS - Drag and Drop / Copy and Paste - No longer working
HI Guys
Odd one for you..
We have an RDS Environment where we have Excel published as a remote app (Remote Excel). Users launch this remote app from their local device and work happily,
Within Remote Excel is a button that when clicked converts the document they are working on into a PDF and opens Remote Outlook so they can send the PDF direct from there - all works well.
HOWEVER, randomly on Monday, users lost the ability to copy/paste. And by this I mean they would previously copy addiitonal files from their local device and paste into Remote Outlook (attaching more files to the email). They could also Drag and Drop - which is what they did.
It's not a group policy thing and i have ensured when they connect to the remote app they have enabled clipboard and drives in the 'local resources' tab of the RDP app!
I'm lost for ideas on how to fix it. I have just rebooted the server as i thought maybe it was a bug kind of thing but nope!
Note: users can COPY local files and PASTE to the Remote desktop (if they log into the fully blown RDS server - as opposed to just launch the Remote Excel) but they cant Copy and paste into Outlook!
Anyone got any ideas?

RDS - Connecting to the RD Connection Broker Server
Hi Guys, has anyone ever come across this error?
In brief we cannot access the RDS Session hosts settings within server manager.
On occasion we have to log off users and do so via server manager > remote desktop services > then log off a user from a session.Recently however we've been having an issue which is only fixable by rebooting the server. See below:
Whilst we have this error, all users are able to work fine and without a problem but from our own admin perspective cant do anything!
All services are running and I cant overcome this issue! Any pointers would be helpful.
Thanks
