My favourite episodes are when they take the piss and break the 4th wall - ugh so good.

The vampire pizza delivery boy one ranks up amongst my top 5

Yes..."Bad Blood" was my favorite...and my favorite line from that episode was from Skinner...

Walter Skinner: Ronnie Strickland's body has gone missing from the morgue, in conjunction with this the coroner's been attacked. His throat was bitten.
      Scully: The coroner's dead?
Walter Skinner: [uncomfortably] No... his throat was... bitten. Just sort of... gnawed on.

Convenient... They sure have a lot of "computer crashes".

I heard this on the news the other day and I just had to laugh out loud. Beyond a RAID set problem, I've not had a hard drive crash on a workstation in my 3 1/.2 years here.

Right and that is done now. 🙂 I went with RAID 10 as you suggested! :0

@garak0410 who is that and what series?

Babylon 5...Londo Mollari ...very intensely written character...you loved him but hated him too and eventually had pity on him...the most amazing character arc I've ever seen on TV. My wife, who isn't into Sci-Fi, watched Babylon 5 with me and by the time it was over, she had tears streaking down her cheek and said it was the best TV SHOW she has ever seen.

That too! Man, that episode was full of great moments...the whole aspect of two point of views was brilliant...

Most people have said just ROBOCOPY the files from the old file server (in this case, SBS 2003) to the new one (2012 R2 Virtual Machine) and it will keep the permissions intact and echo the different server name...correct?

After you decommission the old server, just create a DNS forwarder. That will forward all requests for the Old Server name to the New Server Name

      CNAME (alias) he means.

yeah exactly. Its been a long day

Heck...that makes my life easier for now. I could even complete this tonight if I didn't have to play Soccer Dad.

    • Excel 2013 Crashes On Exit But No Pattern

I may be one of the few (and not so proud) VBA developers (still learning) and I've got an interesting problem. And I do realize when it comes to VBA, it is really hard for an outsider to troubleshoot because it is so custom.

Basically, we have a spreadsheet that is basically a viewer of another master sheet that a VP doesn't want touched. They go into this sheet, update it with a Macro and then show jobs by their initials. It goes out to the master sheet and pulls in data by their initials. With a handful of initials, on closing out the sheet, Excel will do a HARD CRASH, try to recover and start again for 1-2 minutes. It always fails and they just close and re-open. The workaround is to hit the clear button or save a copy of this viewer somewhere and it will not crash.

Again, it only happens on certain initials and sometimes, it doesn't happen to them at all. I've tried looking at sheets when they didn't crash and when they did and nothing sticks out. I was starting to think of the macro needs to be "cleared or flushed" or something. But it doesn't explain why it doesn't happen to some and why just Excel 2013. Excel 2010 users do not have this problem, no matter the initials used.

      Any kind of clue?

InfoWorld's editorial on how Windows 9 will Impact Microsoft.

What is interesting to me are the rumors of this being the last major release of Windows...assuming that means you will get regular enhancements for free and such or perhaps Mac OS like $30 upgrades? With Windows 8.1 with Bing being free and this rumor, wonder where Microsoft will make up the cost of Windows Licenses...quite interesting indeed...

I thought that Windows 8 was the last major release. Windows 8.1 certainly was not a major release. Windows 8 is only arguably a major release. Windows 7 was pretty incremental. Windows 9 would have to be pretty shocking for Vista to not have been the last major release, IMHO.

      Windows 10 it is...

I did finally get an email back from Symantec...they said the sylink process is the best:

If have fewer clients and polices then you can follow the below mentioned steps:

      1. Export the Polices from the existing SEPM.

      2. Install the New SEPM version on the Machine.

      3. Import the Policies.

      4. Create a new test packager and test it with polices that they are working correctly.

      5. Replace the now Sylink.xml on older cleints using sylink replacer.

      6. After few minutes clients will start communicating with the new SEPM and showing online.

      Giving it a shot.

Lots of reports of the app store being full of malware, wondering if you can confirm?

General thoughts on useability / UI ?

      Pros / Cons?

There are a lot of "fake" apps out there and Microsoft is working on purging those. Just make sure the publisher is who actually makes the popular app.

I totally love and use the live tiles. Very helpful. I also use the FAMILY ROOM or general ROOMS feature and it is fantastic in keeping groups of family members with Windows Phone in touch. Love, LOVE this feature but you for sure need other members of the family on Windows Phone.

The settings screen is long and drawn out and could use some work.

Cortana rocks if you really use it like it should be used.
