What do you mean a comparison between the methods?

You deploy RAID the same to SSD or HDDs.

Why one is advisable and one is not was laid out here a few days ago by @scottalanmiller.

From memory a few things:

SSDs don't suffer UREs
SSD resilver time is low enough to not consider failure of another drive to be a perceived threat

These two (again from memory) are why it's considered OK to use RAID 5 with SSDs, but not with HDDs.

That sounds like employer owned devices, not BYOD. BYOD is different.

Unfortunately, we'd have to have a very clear and strict Cell Phone Policy that has a clause for phone tracking. Which we have a phone policy but upper management didn't want, nor I to get involved with tracking phones. As it could get very messy, very quickly.

And I don't know about NYS law and tracking phones, even company provided ones.

Pretty sure you can just track it. If you are concerned with tracking company owned phones, do you fear tracking laptops too? If not, what's the difference?

How long has the RAID been sitting? RAID 1 should not take very long, even with large drives, to sync up.

Probably because no one makes them. People rarely learn how to do things if they are not required to. Why bother if you can have someone else do it for you.

I support in many cases that it might be more efficient for some tasks, maybe not connecting to the VPN, be done by IT if they are not common or simple tasks.

It was physical, but the split brain issue is the same.

You use a STONITH strategy and have a master site and do not fail back transparently.

Windows 8.1 to a "normal" install. I left the update for her to decide when to install, but downloaded it.

Makes sense. I'm not saying that it is a good choice, but seems worthy of inclusion in an evaluation.
