Any recommendations for opensource solutions for creating dashboards, ad-hoc reports, etc? Ideally would allow a non-technical user to build their own reports, cross-tabs, etc.

The BIOS "power saving" discussion can be found here. I recently changed my setting from DAPC ==> Performance ==> PPW/OS.
FWIW, the noise from the fans was more than I liked for my home office environment when set to Performance.

Look under Tools > Network. Chances are you'll see a bunch of IP addresses that don't belong to you, which would indicate that others are accessing your pi-hole.
