A truck with heated tires that runs over cold sandwiches, magically transforming them into pressed, melty goodness? 4 sandwiches at once!

Hamburg, NY claims that as the birthplace of them. From the Erie County Fair.

Can't be a sponsor, but you'll need a sidekick to tackle all those hot Hamburg sandwiches.

My friend we can tackle this journey together - the beer will not drink it's self and the burgers will not eat themselves. Think of the knowledge we could share with humanity to make the world a better place!

We will have to write a chapter on burger/beer pairings. And cheese placement theories (over or under the other toppings?).

Cheese goes between the pattie and the other toppings.

Cheese goes between the pattie and the other toppings.
Or, cheese goes over the toppings, gets melted, and provides a delicious wrapping that encases all the toppings and anchors them to the patty(ies). Both ideas have merit.

The Texas historian Frank X. Tolbert attributes the invention of the hamburger to Fletcher Davis of Athens, Texas. Davis is believed to have sold hamburgers at his café at 115 Tyler Street in Athens, Texas, in the late 1880s, before bringing them to the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair.[2][3]

Late 1880s just missed it already being known to the public in Buffalo at the fair. Looks like the first copycat, though.
