We're trying a new Italien food to go restaurant right now. Pretty good.
lol, that pizza certainly looks Italian... definitely not american style.
And damn, it was good. The restaurant owner is from Sizilia, AFAIK.
Sicilia?

sure... "Sizilien" in German, so what I wrote above seems to be a pretty good mix

Lunch at the Omega Grill earlier today.
Just found this picture in the ML feed.... literally our last meal in the US before we left and I took this picture at the Omega Grill which, just weeks after we left, was closed down. This place was a staple where I grew up. The owner's daughter was roughly my age and so we knew them pretty well (we nearly managed to get together with her in Greece as she lives there now.) This was us using a gift certificate for there. We had no idea that it would really be our last chance... ever.

Just made some microwave noodles.

French onion chicken.... boneless/skinless thighs braised w/ caramelized onions, garlic, and herbs. Topped with shredded Gruyère.

Leftover pizza from last night. But we are planning on hitting the food truck down the hill after the Scale webinar.

At first glance I thought this was pizza. I could not have been further from the truth.

Lunch was some lovely sesame marinated lean pork over rice. But dinner last night was some grilled alpaca tenderloin. Highly recommended if you can find it. So tender and delicious.

Alpaca? Interesting. Management has been trying to find something more exotic to sell to their customers. Beef, pork, and chicken can only get so much buzz.

My chef neighbor found many exotic, farm-raised meats at a local specialty shop. Alpaca, water buffalo, bison, rabbit, etc. And if you have a Sprouts store near you, they often carry ostrich meat.
Alpaca can best be described as a cross between grass fed beef and pork. Light flavored and so tender, but still red. We cooked this to medium well and it was juicy and fork tender. I don't think you could overcook it.
