So whilst the sales are on, I'd like to ask for suggestions for RTS Games or even 4X games.
I need something to spend my money on before the stocks get even lower.
Go.

- Sins of a Solar Empire
- Grey Goo
- Age of Empires 2 (And the Expansions)
- Age of Mythology
- Stellaris (Looks promising although I haven't played it yet)
- Star Wars: Empire at War (And the Expansion)
- Dawn of War (And all the Expansions)
- Dawn of War 2 (Although this is more squad based tactics then what I consider RTS)
- Company of Heroes 1 & 2 (Squad based but still good)

If you've got an itch to scratch with Europe at the moment...
Men of War: Assault Squad 1 & 2
Fast paced highly tactical strategy game. Play as Americans, British, Germans, Russians and Japanese.

If you are interested in city building games. Check out the Tropico and Cities series. The latest Cities game is really good. But Tropico 4 is better then Tropico 5. The Anno series is ok but I've only played the most recent Sci-fi one.

City builders I find meh.
Get X much.
Use to get Y
Get more of X & Y to unlock D
Use D to build paltry defences/prevention against disaster
Harvest more
Make bigger buildings.I love empire builders like Civ but those games take so long.

Yep, I can understand that. The Tropico games introduce a lot of nice things into the genre but still pretty much that basic mechanic.

Do you like the Total War series? Total War: Shogun 2 and Medieval II Total War are really good.

Medieval II crashes on my Windows 10 machines for some reason but I clocked up so many hours.
Shogun 2, I skipped because apparently the empire building side was lessened, Medieval had lots of dynamics. Though I might be wrong.

No C&C Generals? WTF?

I haven't been able to make it work on my Windows 10 machine. Generals was my all time favorite C&C game and right up there as one of my favorite RTS games.
I was really disappointed when they canceled Generals 2.

That being said C&C Red Alert 3 was very good. C&C Tiberium Wars and Tiberium Twilight were decent but really odd.

I really enjoy Tropico. Especially Tropico 4.

I still haven't beaten anything but Tropico 3. I need to invest some time in it but I think I was stuck at a popular uprising mission in Tropico 4.

T3 was good, but T4 was a good improvement. I need to sit down and invest some time in T5.

I wanna get Red Alert 2 working again. Generals was not as good as RA 2 as something new, but still a really good one.
I never really liked Red Alert 2. I liked the story and upgrade system behind Generals a lot more. Especially when Zero Hour came out and introduced a ton of new units.

I liked that they gave all 3 factions a way of printing money in the late game.
US supply drops
Chinese hackers
GLA, black markets -

GLA, black marketsYep, that was a really fun feature. Plus the General abilities. I loved calling in air strikes and suicide bombers.

Company of Heroes I love as a game, It's how Zero Hour should have been (I don't play 2 just 1) because it takes the best of Zero Hour but gives each unit real stopping power.

I haven't played Company of Heroes in a long time. Was the original squad based like Company of Heroes 2 was or am I thinking of a different game?
