Another buzz word example
Leverage strong interpersonal talents in all
customer-facing activities to ensure consistent satisfaction. What technology did you use? Veaam, UEB? That is important.
Utilize industry best-practices in backup
and recovery, disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity planning. -
You list your certs twice. List nothing twice.
-
This is two pages but only has the content for one. Trim it to one good page rather than two with filler. (Same thing that AJ did.)
-
This takes up too much space. No tech position cares about your experience with Microsoft Office
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher), Visio,

Mac OS like in the 1990s? Not Mac OSX? Don't get names wrong on a resume. You can't be sloppy here.
Windows is includes in Windows Server, don't mention it twice.
LAN, WAN, Coax Cabling, UDP... drop all of those. UDP is inclusive in the TCP/IP suite. LAN/WAN means nothing, really. That you can cable up cable systems isn't relevant to an IT job.
Too much filler in all of these sections.
-
These three lines could be reduced to the word "MS Exchange".
-
Enterprise Anti-Virus Suites should just be AV. Terse, not wordy.

I would spell out AV as Antivirus... Some places tend to equate AV and A/V (Antivirus and Audio/Visual)... and as such, they place A/V under the IT umbrella.

Good point.

You put more for a three year starter job than I did for a decade long senior VP on Wall St position!!
First, IT Engineer isn't a thing. Don't use weird made up titles. Put only the real title for what you did (not what they called you.)
Also, you have a typo in the very first word!!
Let's try this instead:
Customer facing IT consultant leading all aspects of IT service delivery. Led virtualization projects, security operations and web development endeavors.
Everything else is filler.
-
Also, I hate justified text That first paragraph jsut fuckign hurts my eyes to look at.
-
Thanks for all of the advice everyone. Over the weekend I'm going to tighten this up and I'll put the edited copy up there separately so we can compare. Hopefully someone gets something out of it in addition to me.

I would say that this entire section, to me, feels like filler. I don't want a profile title or a description. We already know what job you WANT, "this one". This is the resume, not a sale pitch.
I always created these as if I were selling myself because I essentially am, right? Maybe I need to change my outlook

Yes, but sell yourself based on having the skills needed, dont' act like a used car salesman trying to get someone to buy a car that they don't need.
It's a tech sheet, the person is already shopping. Filler does nothing for making good jobs interested in you. BUt tons of places will totally ignore you because of it.

@Ambarishrh I've been slowly editing it. My wedding planning mixed with my fiances 82 year old grandmother moving has consistently stopped any progress. It's not the grandma though it's the rest of the family getting involved where they don't have to. My life is a sitcom. I feel like John Cleese in that Fawlty Towers episode where he's just trying to hang a painting on the wall and everything goes to shit. His wife comes home and says "you had one thing to do"

Great show. I've watched every episode many times.
