Is there anyway to clean up the cabling behind the rack?

This. One of the greatest inventions of all time, IMO. I struggle to pass more than 3 cables in close proximity, either at home or at work, without having an overwhelming desire to Velcro them together.

Cable ladder down the wall, velcro to that in nice neat runs.
And re-arrange the layout so its patch panel, switch, patch panel, switch etc, means you don't have stupidly long cables and its easier to find what goes where etc...
Plus why the oversized patch panels?! We have 48-port ones that are 1u, why do you have 24 ports that are 2u

Like that - apparently it's a "Cable Basket" not a ladder, same thing though, attach to wall with a bit of a gap (use wooden batons to space it a bit) and then attach to that

It's a "work in progress" project.
Need to get an electrician in to sort some power sockets out, then I can re cable the power to the UPS's then sort the VMWare Hosts to the Dell Switches, the vmotion and SAN connection. Then once the "inside" cabling is tidy and done tackle the "outside" visible stuff lol. -

Not for what I mentioned, just phyisical clean up. You'd need to repunch to make a HUGE improvement, but with some little hooks and ties you could clean up with is there without undoing stuff.

Don't do anything half way. So once I start I am repunching everything

Then plan ahead, get a weekend booked out and label label label...find what patch goes to what port in what switch, find out if theres a way to tidy it up (IDK if you have VLAN's on ports etc) then rearrange to patch, switch, patch, switch config, shorter patch cables, colour-coded if possible, and do it once, properly

you can get it in different colors if you want to separate out your voice and data, by floor, etc. -
I would use Velcro wraps. You can organize them and get them out way, and still replace cables as needed. If I were you, I'd just fake a fire to get everyone out of the building and unplug everything and untangle them.

I love velcro wraps. Look great, easy to use, no chance of slicing cables and you can modify them whenever you need.
