Adobe Reader and Acrobat...

I use Foxit. It uses a million percent less resources and has more features.
On my phone I use Xodo.

My argument is that they sell this sell Acrobat XI as they latest version up until a year ago. DC was not introduced until April 2015. Less than 6 months later Office 2016 is released.

It's frustrating, but completely normal.
This would be one of those times that @scottalanmiller would say - you choose to be on an expensive (possibly locked in) system and keeping completely up to date is a requirement in these situations, and you should be prepared for that. Not you personally, but the business person making the decision to buy and use these products who is aware (because whomever did the research on the products gave the decision maker the info that updates happen regularly and cost X and should be done) of the cost of remaining current.

I moved away from Foxit when they started including crapware like Adobe was.

I never had it install anything else. At least I don't remember that happening.

Like Adobe, it was just another slipped in during install questions - Hey do you want this XYZ crap too? oh I'll just assume you do unless you uncheck the box...

Sumatra PDF has none of Adobe's BS. Clean installer and everything.

Or lots of form fills and many other things that the PDF standard allows but Sumatra doesn't support. The reality is as much as Adobe sucks, if you use anything other than acrobat you will likely have some missing features

I've used Libre Office Draw to make some PDF forms and it works fairly well for what I've used it for.

No question there. For basics Sumatra is awesome. As soon as you need more then Adobe is the way to go.
