How Much Personal Information is Actually Out There?

Haha. When you search my username the first thing that pops up is "fan" art/images for Conner/Oliver a couple on the show How to get Away with Murder.

Have you ever Googled your own name? What about your current (or former) address? Have you ever tried to find something you wrote 10 years ago? Twenty years ago? Can you find a picture of your own face on the Internet?
Google my name, it is entertaining.
A few years ago, Symantec called me at work. They were dying. They looked up "IT professional" and the top non-stock photo hit was my avatar
Wow... that's still true.
That's amazing! SEO at work.

Ha I never realized that was a painting or cartoon. I just thought it was a photograph.

I knew it was NIck Offerman, I always just saw the tiny gravatar so I just thought it was an actual photo of Ron.

Well if you type John Hooks in google you get the CEO of Pacific Global Management. If you type jhooks, you just get hooks that screw in a wall. I guess I'm just not famous.
-
I am not any of these people... come on google...
Edit: I do however use that purple car for my Gravatar and SW Icons.

No pics or links to me by searching Philip Ruff or Phil Ruff.
-
Well.... 3 images on the first two lines anyway. One of em is the #foundSAM from Spiceworld selfie.

I probably could have worded that better, but I never imagined anyone would think of it that way.

How to know you've searched cable management in the past... I searched jhooks and all that came up were cable management hooks and associated anchors.

I used to be near the top of a Google search on my name, but then another Jared using the handle "TheSmokingAndroid" start up all the social media stuff supporting his tech reviews.
A search on the online nickname I started using in the 1990's hits my social media.
-
If I type in my most common username, it's all pictures of my old car and my motorcycle haha.
-
Yea... that's scary... I got stuff going back way, way back.... I mean like back to when I still had to dial up to a BBS to get online!
-
I've been blogging daily since Feb, 2000 so there is a LOT of me out there.

I've been in various forums for a long time... I found a post to a Debian thread about WordPerfect 8, lol. Right near the beginning of 2000. If I dug around, I could go back farther.

I'm sure that I have older stuff, but that was when I was on daily.... and daily ever since.

My most recent username: JediMasterOdd nets results (mostly from Twitter), and some of my other usernames that I have used are far too common to find me easily.
nadnerB yields a few results in a Google Image search (scrolling required). Just SW and ML though
There are a few people using my IRL name but no actual images of me show up in a Google Image search. A few avatars of mine do though.
