Anything better than Microsofts Remote Desktop Connection Manager?
-
I use this for internal servers.
It's not used for remote support or the likes. RDP is fine, just the default functionality of RDCM is what gets to me.
-
What about that product that was linked the other day, TSRoyal, I think?
-
Here it is... check out this thread:
-
I won a copy of Goverlan Remote Control from SW. It's pretty sweet, I know I haven't used it to its full capabilities, but the alleged $800 price tag is hard to swallow. It will do RDP, its own remote agent, VNC, Intel pro KVM, Telnet/SSH, or remote command line (very handy).
-
It may not be remote support, but if you have a remote support tool, why not use it instead?
Since we moved to ScreenConnect, I have never used RDP.
-
Same here, with SC we stopped using RDP completely.
-
What is it about these companies selling Technician Licenses that have a node limit? what a PIA!
-
We used to use LogMeIn, but that had issues with consistently working, and then the price got jacked-up. We moved to Screen Connect, and so far I am liking it. If nothing else, it sure seems to be more stable than LMI was.
-
More stable and also the connections are so much faster. What takes me five minutes in LMI and often fails takes seconds in SC and does not fail.

Absolutely!
-
Huh - I've never had those issues with LMI.
I'm looking to leave LMI only because I'd like to have all 115 machines on my account. To upgrade Central to support that nearly doubles my current cost.
I'm doing a demo with Citrix for GoToAssist. Their standard fee of $69/a tech a month for 100 unattended and unlimited attended will work for my needs. I almost never log into a user's machine unattended. Yeah the cost will be nearly 50% more than I pay today, but that's better than 100% AND I get the ability to use unlimited attended support connections. Plus they can do screen recording and I can make training videos out of those.
But I'll be looking at other options as well before I finalize on an option.

ScreenConnect is pretty awesome. I stopped using RDP after moving to that as well. Everything in one place and no need to be on a VPN or anything to support laptops or for when I am not in the office.
-
I use Devolution's Remote Desktop Manager. Very nice and they have a free and paid version.

We have Log Me in Rescue and it works great. Don't use it for servers though. I use RDP/Royal TS for that. or RSAT

I use the remote control software that comes with System Centre Configuration Manager for work stations and just the standard RDP software that is built into Windows for accessing our servers.
I don't like how RDCM doesn't pass all keyboard shortcuts. Total deal breaker.
It also messes with my head having it in a window.
