As is often the case, Wikipedia does not know everything. Straight from Drobo engineering, they run QNX, not Linux. There is Linux on SOME systems, but it is for only certain components and runs on a secondary controller. The Drobo system is always a proprietary UNIX system.

While the B&R Free can be scheduled via scheduled tasks, I'm not sure the Endpoint Backup can be.

You can schedule it via the GUI.

i just read on their website that this software is designed to be installed on workstation like windows 7 or 8, can i install it on windows server 2008 R2 ?? -

I've learned also that it perform block level backup, can I backup my files in daily basis incrementally to a NAS???
