Gaming - What's everyone playing / hosting / looking to play

My favorite story-based games:
- Life is Strange
- Wolf Among Us
- Walking Dead Season 1 (never played 2)
Those are the only ones I've played, which I really need to change!
In my opinion, Telltale set the bar high for the "Branching Story Adventure" genre (??) and Square Enix has recently raised it with Life is Strange. My favorite change by Square-Enix is the removal of the "click here quickly or something bad will happen!"-style quick time events that occasionally felt out of place for me in the Telltale games.
-
My favorite story based game is To the Moon. It's basically a visual novel with a few puzzles, but the story is as good as any sci-fi story I've read or watched a movie of. Get it, play it, love it.

ha, you are lucky that I get that reference, I am way too old to have seen Pokemon.
-
@scottalanmiller You have two young kids... No... You've seen it at least once or twice... and maybe even liked it... Aww, come on... admit at least that it could have been worse... much, much worse...
-
Nope, I've never seen it in person and I don't think that my kids are aware of it.
-
@scottalanmiller Consider yourself lucky, ha ha ha ha.
Edit; The show isn't really terrible..... I'd rank it mildly enjoyable for adults, lol.

there is a show too?

ROFL. Yepp... Shows, games, the whole 9 yards... I'm sure you can find books too if you wanted to... However... if you haven't started... don't. Then you'll start collecting them like you collect games that you don't play, lol.

I broke down and got the Capcom Humble Bundle, lol. I didn't need it... but Bionic Commando is actually a fun game. It looks like they did a good job with it (I'm on level 1 now, lol).
-
What era is that game from?
-
I am hoping that we get a chance to play Back to the Future tonight.
-
@scottalanmiller Bionic Commando was originally released on the NES, lol. So.... late 80s / early 90s?
I got a bunch of other unnecessary games too... Strider (also based on an older game, NES era as well, I think) is pretty fun as well. I think I'm going to have to dust off my USB controller though... My laptop doesn't seem to register when I press more than 2 or 3 keys.
I also have Ultra Street Fighter IV... So it was worth it for no other reason than the fact that I can now come and easily blow stuff up when I feel bad / need to let off steam.. in a game... I promise.

We put in maybe an hour playing Telltale Game's Back to the Future last night. Sadly, the game glitched and then crashed on us so we were unable to save our progress
-
My favourite is Telltale Games "Strongbad's Cool Game for Attractive People"

I see what you did there.

Bought like ten games this weekend between Steam and GOG sales.
-
Completed "Episode One" in Back to the Future: The Game.
-
Played Episode 2 of Back to the Future last night and completed it in one setting without a save point
