@travisdh1 That's what I'm afraid of with him.

Broke down and downloaded Fortnite for Percy with the battlepass. He loves the creative mode on it the most.
I know nothing about Fortnite, but seconds ago the sister in law started asking questions. She wants to know if it runs on the PC (I'm certain that this is true) and if so, to install it, it appears that she needs to download and install the "Epic Game Launcher"? Is that legit?
Anything else I should know to tell her? This is her installing it for her ten year old.

The Epic Game launcher is legit. I can't remember what game it was for, but yeah, that's working. I think they're trying to move Fortnite off of steam, aren't they?

Where do you people come up with this shit...
Fortnite was never on Steam.

I wish it was on Steam, that would make everything easy and obvious.

The game is from Epic Games. It is the current cash cow.

right - They haven't released Fortnite on iOS because they don't' want to pay the fees - they also haven't released it in the Google Play store for the same reason.

It was released on iOS first. They skipped the Google Play store to get out of paying the 30% fee there because the mobile version was so popular people will walk through fire to get it.

OIC - Well - I will admit I was only parroting what others had told me. I don't play any of those games so I haven't an actual clue on them.. my bad
-
@scottalanmiller Yep thats it. It runs on pc and the usual consoles

The basic version is free. Pretty good product by itself. The battlepass is $10. That gives you a couple extra skins, challenges, and creative mode. Seems like a pretty good deal for as fun as it is.

Epic Games is trying to make a Steam competitor... and with Fortnite and the Unreal engine they may actually be able to do it.
-
@coliver Yeah Fortnite is just that popular it seems. We are a funny pair, he is sitting their with my sennheiser headphones playing Fortnite and I am sitting next to him with my Bose noise cancelling headphones on playing Everquest.

I really enjoy the Torchlight franchise. There is talks about doing a Torchlight MMO.... not sure how far that went.

TorchLight 2 has only functionality that you can play with others. But that isn't really MMO, just multiplayer

Torchlight is fun. I've played a bit on Torchlight 1.

Obsidian Entertainment finally announces its Fallout: New Vegas successor
The colorful first-person RPG is set to release in 2019.
Obsidian Entertainment, developers of games like Pillars of Eternity, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II, and Alpha Protocol ran a trailer for a new game at The Game Awards last night. Titled The Outer Worlds, it's a first-person shooter and RPG that the trailer seems to position as a spiritual successor to Fallout: New Vegas, one of Obsidian's most beloved previous works.
Set to a song by Iggy Pop, the trailer includes witty, devil-may-care dialogue that might evoke Borderlands for some fans. The game's development is led by Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, who are billed by publisher Private Division as the original creators of Fallout.
