I played Elite Dangerous with an EdTracker Pro Wireless last night. Holy shit the difference in immersion is amazing.
I guess I haven't mentioned it yet, but I'm currently starting a small side business with a friend. We will sell our own head tracker and probably other (gaming) hardware.
We tried a few of them and eventually designed our own. Wireless, approx. 30 hours battery time (rechargeable), approx. > 170° horizontal recognition, weight approx. 50 grams / 2 oz. I could start a thread on this if anyone is interested, but please keep in mind that this is more a hobby than a business
Hey, that's pretty cool stuff!

I'm interested. I would love if someone made an open source hardware version of this kind if like the original ed tracker. I'd be interested to see someone do something like this with 6dof.
There are serveral thingiverse models available if you like a DIY solution. I'm afraid our product won't be open source. It's not exactly rocket science, most information is freely available online. But we invested a lot of effort into this (finding suppliers, designing PCB and Clip, German / EU law compliance and what not) would like to see at least some "ROI"
BTW, ours is 6 degrees of freedom.

Then I'm interested either way.

She is still playing, hasn't even taken a break.

Sound like me and Minecraft. Which reminds me, I need to do that writeup.

She played till about midnight. So roughly a sixteen hour game day.

After a full day of video games, Liesl got up early to get to the video game system before her mother did. She's playing Broken Age now.

I've been a little disappointed by how Amplitude has handled ES2. It seems like they're going down the DLC all the races path that everyone else has done in the past. That is a little frustrating tbh. I like the way Firaxis did Civ VI. Buy the deluxe version and you get all the DLCs included.

That's what I did last night. Playing Kindoms of Amalur: Reckoning. I like it so far. It has a captivating story!
