@Grey said in Gaming - What's everyone playing / hosting / looking to play:
@Dashrender I played EverQuest for 10 years.
I did not go a full 10 years in a row, but after a couple years off, I got heavy into the EQ emulator scene, to the point of developing for it for a couple years.
Loved EQ1 a ton, but EQ2 at release was a great game. Interdependence between crafters and adventurers with consequences to character decisions.
Sadly they bowed to pressure and over simplified the play to match WoW.

Playing Age of Empires 2 online.
Got your stream off on another monitor.
I was wondering who was watching me How was it?
It was good. I clocked out right as you reached the last age. Someone really likes building a navy....
He was about to come and clobber me with it, lol.
Hah, I'll have to jump in next time. I'm not the greatest RTS player though much prefer to go against an AI.
yeah, that's how I often played.. but 3 on 3 humans RTS was often fun too.
RTS with humans is the best, even when you lose. It's just fun knowing that it is real people and getting to be on a team with real people.
I love RTS with human teams. Back in 1998 I had setup my own NT4 server in the house with 2 56k dial up modems sharing bandwidth. My roommate and I had computers next to each other and just owned everyone that was not a ladder rank player in StarCraft.

We haven't set up our gaming rig here in Sicily yet. That's on the list for tonight. Haven't figured out where we are putting the projector yet.

It really is, one of our best purchases. About $700 for ours. It is an Optoma and absolutely tiny and does an awesome job of projecting 720p which we use for everything, but mostly Netflix and Steam games.

@JaredBusch How's the card game compare to the tabletop version?
-
@travisdh1 @Jaredbusch I really want the 3d printed version of the board game.

Hrm.... a 3d printer and the material to make the game + all the expansions would be cheaper to make. That game is one of the worst expansion prices I've ever seen, plus we always need the 6 player expansion to the expansion sigh

It is a huge amount of fun.
It is a 2 player game only
When I was a drone at AT&T me and a coworker would sometimes play during lunch. Pretty much always finished a game. The box says 45-90 minutes.

Never saw that before.
A friend has a base for the board game that he bought from a kickstarter.
But never saw an entire 3D printed game. That would have all kinds of copyright issues. -

The copyright on Catan extends to the produced materials; what you buy in the box. There's nothing wrong with producing our own board and pieces as long as you don't photocopy stuff. You can even sell your own 3d printed pieces, as long as you don't use the trademark name or duplicate any of the board pieces exactly (which would be a 2d set).
