Isn't there a 10C/Min charge for voice calls. I know tests were free at one time.

Ya texting is still free also. Just can't send picture messages.

If you opt to upgrade to Hangouts, even Picture messaging works now.
International calls are 10c a minute. Anything that stays inside the continental US is free. Google Voice!

Oh, I've been on hangouts for a long time and I never realized that. That's awesome!

The main reason I use Google Voice is for the Voice -> Text voicemails. The transcription service is horrible a lot of times, but every now and again I get a useful voicemail that has been converted to text, lol.
There's also the fact that I had a horrible cell signal for a long time, but great wifi... So... I just started giving everybody my GVoice number, lol. Works out pretty good to me... now I won't ever have to change my number again unless I really want to, lol.

Ever since they moved to Hangouts my voicemail transcriptions have been getting better and better. Surprising really.

The transcribed voice mails are great for quiet settings and you can generally get an idea of what it's about.
Cell service is atrocious in our house, so I have the business number and our house number on google voice going through the Obi for the landlines, and wifi calling with hangouts for my cell phone. Plus, since I have an android phone I can just use hangouts to text anyone else with hangouts. My wife can use her chromebook and I can use the chrome extension to text with hangouts also. It's great.

@coliver Yeah, they have... But my family members with thick southern accents... Just no, lol. My Mom can be talking about fried chicken church last week and it will print something about Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, y'all. lol.
You are right though. It is getting better.

Fried Chicken Church? Is that where they worship fried chicken? Because that makes way too much sense to me.

@coliver Was supposed to be Fried Chicken after church... but yeah... Fried Chicken Church works too, lol. It very very closely resembles the small Baptist churches of old where you bring a covered dish every Sunday, just in case.

Thanks everyone. I might just get an account and test.

Has anyone used Google Voice for their business. I want to get personal calls on my cell phone and also use Google Voice on my cell (different number) for business clients. Would this work?
I have used GoogeVoice on an Obi100 for years. I do not use it for business though.
