Hypothetical - Office 365 reselling

You discover a situation where a client is paying a "IT Service Provider" for their emails.
You notice that their emails are with office 365.
Your brain immediately says that it is impossible to resell Office 365, so they must be breaking the MS terms somehow.
What do you do?

This can be an odd duck - the client might not have wanted to deal directly with MS on this, so the vendor might have been asked to take care of the billing, and just send us the bill for that along with your regular billing.

I don't know but I've seen other things this company has done and I would not be surprised.
i.e domain registration, it is entirely in the name of the provider rather than the client.

I see that all the time. Hell Yahoo does this. When you buy a domain through them, they own the domain, not you. They will generally give you control if you want to move it, but until then, it's still theirs.

There is actually a way for them to resell it rather than to partner with MS. GoDaddy and CDW do this, for example. It's only very large volume focused resellers, generally stores not consultants, that do this.

Yeah, they really are nowhere near that level.

Customers often don't do any research on this stuff. The fear of dealing with salespeople - they make their money selling things.
You can ask how much they are paying for that and if they are getting any special features. They might actually be getting a deal. They might not.
