that's one of my favorites. I love the imagery of Aslan singing the world into existence.
I love the tie ins with the later books. The lampost, the apple becoming the wardrove, the little boy becoming the old man.

We've read the series over and over and over in our house.
Our home school board offers an online literature class on the series with our two oldest having taken the course with nary an argument about reading the series again.
I don't know how many times I've read them but it's quite a few both for myself and some of them to the kids.

I just started the 2nd book of the 2nd trilogy of the Mistborn series -- The Wax and Wayne series. Very enjoyable.

I finished that series, at least what is currently published. I started the wheel of time series again, for the third time.

I'm 80% through the 1st book of the Stormlight Archive -- The Way of Kings. Good read but I have to admit that the Mistborn series is more enjoyable to me.
I don't know if I'll move to the Kevin J. Anderson series -- The Saga of Seven Suns or the Harry Bosch series which I've heard many good things about. -
Been reading Squirrel Girl with my youngest.

Picked up Timothy Zahn's new Thrawn Alliances book so am re-reading its predecessor then the new one.
He is a fantastic writer. Great book(s).

Working my way through LOTR books again. I'm farther along now that I got last time I tried to read it... Almost done with The Hobbit.

Yeah, Disney's new canon versus what is now called the "Legends" series or old canon originally doctored by Lucas himself.
The new canon covers the movies, TV series, other online series, and any of the new books published since "The Force Awakens".
In a way, it's a good thing and in a way the decision was a bad thing.
It was good because Disney was not locked in to retelling what was already written in the plethora of Legends books and series. It was bad for much the same reason. So much was left behind.
Another good that came out of it is Zahn's ability to write using his hindsight and augmenting things. The first book was and is amazing. I'm already 3/4 of the way through it. I expect no less from the new "Thrawn Alliances" book.
