@jaredbusch Have you read any of L Ron Hubbard's books? A friend of mine was explaining how great he was as a science fiction author (if you just ignore Scientology). I was considering picking up some of his works to see what the deal was
L. Ron Hubbard is a failed sci-fi writer who had to found a cult to get people to keep reading his books. And if your friend is actually not trying to rope you into scientology, he has terrible taste. But he's probably trying to rope you into scientology...
Trust me that is most definitely not the case. I wouldn't be surprised if he just has bad taste in science fiction books.
Also, don't forget that the cult of scientology hired people to try to smear Trey Parker and Matt Stone for making that south park episode... where they just told exactly what those morons believe. So your friend's taste aside, there's nothing redeeming about any of that guy's writings.
From a purely artistic point of view they just aren't that well written... Ignoring the cult aspect of it all (which is hard to do).
Yeah I just ignore Scientology, but them being bad books obviously matters. Thanks

You cannot. As that is the entire point.
You are wrong about your friend.

Most of our furniture is IKEA too.

Kids have been reading Little House on the Prairie
-
My primary home lab (2 x SuperMicro 1U servers) runs inside IKEA shelf (slightly modified though). The second home lab (2 x SuperMicro SuperServers E300) is hosted inside LEGO chassis we've built together with my son
Currently, I am in the middle of Patrick Rothfuss - The Name of the Wind.

Really enjoying "Ready Player One" I wanted to get it read before the movie comes out. Now that I am in it, that won't be a problem.
You're in the movie?
Yes, acting is a part-time gig.

The kids are going to a home school book club at the local library early this afternoon.
-
Making an attempt to finish the Harry Potter saga tonight.
-
Just started "A Darker Shade of Magic". It looks like an interesting amalgam of parallel universes, urban fantasy, and (maybe) steampunk.

There’s far worse fates!! Might I suggest a short break with Neil Gaiman’s ‘Fortunately, the Milk’?

We started Dragons of Autumn Twilight last night.

It's true. I easily read the Chronicles of Narnia a hundred times as a kid.
