I remove the search box from the taskbar.

IMHO it takes up too much space on the taskbar, and if you start typing it starts searching anyways.

I do also, but I left everything default for the screenshots. Well as default as possible since this was an upgrade and my background images synced through.

Overall seems like it went pretty smoothly.

I expected it to as there was nothing installed on the machine except Chrome, Greenshot, Avast Business, and the ScreenConnect agent.

@JaredBusch I have been using Screenconnect client on all the Windows 10 builds, and there seems to be no issue there 🙂

              Sounds like a Chromebox 😉

I'm in the process of an in place upgrade on Win 7. It's an older machine, but a fairly recent reinstall of Windows, so we'll see how it goes.

Just finished updating a Surface Pro 3. The final release isn't much different then the beta version I am running now. Really smooth upgrade process fairly idiot proof.

I'm not surprised that it is there, just buried I would imagine.

I did an upgrade on my 8.1 laptop at home last night. All my softwares seem to be happy... and some of my games feel snappier in the graphics department... (and these are older games, lol).

Yep. I fired up iexplore.exe from the run box.
It opens with a page displaying:

                                    You should try Microsoft Edge

The newest browser from Microsoft for Windows 10

The same people who brought you Internet Explorer proudly bring you Microsoft Edge. It builds on the Internet Explorer browser you trust and lets you take along all of your favourites. Plus you can:

Interesting but not really surprising. Without that I think that the update would be much riskier that it might break compatibility with a lot of organizations that have made a big commitment to Internet Explorer in the past.

Seems like a good compromise. Move everyone to Edge, but for serious users and IT departments, IE is still there when you need it.

Just went through the upgrade process on my main desktop. Went through perfectly.

The only issue after log in was that my second monitor did not retain the resolution and I had to set it manually.

This was actually a harder action to perform than I expected because the resolution is no longer on the initial display settings screen.

Right click anywhere on the desktop and choose "Display settings"
                                        img

No resolution selection is available. You have to click Advanced display settings.
                                        img

Now you can change your screen resolution.
