I left the conference about an hour ago. Another SpiceWorld done for me. Had to leave a little early to go to the office, charge up the laptop and iPhone, print my boarding pass and head to the airport.

Yeah, I go nuts because so many places use my legal first name in my email address. I never go by my legal name, but because that's my email I constantly get called that...

I understand WHY it happens. I have seen companies, though, that actually ask if you have a preferred name and then use that for your email as a result. It's much nicer.

That can cause issues sometimes with identification.

Yeah. Legally often you are not allowed to do that.

I had a job that refused to use my preferred name recently. Oddly my preferred name was simply my real name but they refused and it caused collisions in their AD and no end of issues.
