 Single point of failure with the switchgear, surprised there wasn't a backup. Usually they have devices that monitor this kind of thing and automatically switch over.

 Just heard that a small ISP north of Hamburg offers 1GBit/s sync FTTH, cable TV and phone including landline calls etc for 80 EUR per month without any throttling or traffic limit. 500 MBit/s sync would be 20 EUR less.
