This after the whole French thing, my younger brother lives in Istanbul, can't get a hold of him. Why can't my family members answer their phones?
They've blacked out Turkey. Expect no contact.

Am in wrong to assume that you can read the language(I can't identify it, but I'm assuming it's Turkish) ?
Edit: Also, how close are your family members to all of this?

It's Italian. I'm watching both but I have that one on mute because I don't speak Italian, just going for images.
Well, it seems centring around Ankara, my brother is in Istanbul, but surely something is happening there.

Got a hold of my brother on Facebook, power is not out, cellphones are, most Internet doesn't work, he used a private VPN he had dial access to (non-mobile).
Edit: Said he her a few far off bangs like explosions, the power did flash off and on a few times, but hasn't stayed off.
I'll keep updating if anyone is interested.

Very interested this is really interesting. Especially after the recent issues in Turkey.

People in the streets, unclear who they are supporting but Erdagon was promoting people go out and take the country back but it may be wrong.
-
TV has gone out now, no channels work.

I can't help but appreciate a military that really does hold it's self to a high standard. It's not clear yet if they are behind this, but their legacy of over turning naughty rulers is really good.

Some people cheering for the government, the ones he can hear from his balcony anyway.

Hasn't heard any gun fire in a while, earlier possibly a little, but he was asleep so he can't be sure. Right now though, mostly calm aside from some people yelling outside. Where's your friend?
