I'd say he's more of a Trumplican than anything.
He's doing it for his own interest, I wonder if we'd impeach him after his first year...
If Trump does win, I (and many other Americans) will soon be Canadian. I've been studying their culture for decades, I bet I can integrate pretty easily, eh?
Be one with the bears.
Just don't become another Timothy Treadwell.

I doubt that many people will actually change their citizenship. A ton of people said the same thing with Obama and Bush, it never really happened.
Plus there is a ton of documentation to have to go through to do it. Which many people refuse to do. It might be easier to just move around like @scottalanmiller does than to actually change your nationality.

+1 to no one actually leaving

I highly doubt that they will too, however, I've never heard it anything like we hear it now and have never seen it have such an immediate and direct impact on peoples' safety and freedom of movement. So we might see things change a lot. I've never before seen places advertise as a good place for Americans to move to in regards to governmental changes before either. So things are certainly different this time.

We never really say it, but it's enough that we will likely change our nationality and stop just moving around. Our safety and protection will be heavily compromised in the event that Trump gets elected. We've talked with some friends in a government office about options just last week. Very casual, but we have several options that we are prepared to execute. Living outside of the US will potentially become very dangerous and our ability to return may be revoked.

The fact that he's going to get the nomination really opened my eyes to what our country actually is. I surround myself with what I consider to be good people and I think that shielded me from some of the harsh realizations about our country.

Someone posted as a joke that Mexico will be better than Canada, partially because there is a wall protecting you from Trump. It was Trump supporters making a joke about how bad it is outside of the US. But in reality, the Mexican economy is booming and it is a huge country with awesome weather, amazing culture and tons of opportunity and is very friendly to American immigration. It's actually a great choice. I really like Canada, but if I was trying to stay just one border hop away, I'd far more likely be headed to Mexico.

I'd much rather move overseas to Europe at this point. Would need a place with lots of Dairy and lots of IT though.

What's different for us is that I have been pushing for a change of nationality for a long time. It's about having that extra momentum to reach a tipping point, not the cause of change on its own.

Dairy is pretty common in Europe. They drink milk just like Americans do. And they don't import it from Asia or anything weird.

I'm from NJ. No one seems to know what a Pork Roll is outside of the tri-state area. Used to it

Even in the tri-state, only NJ calls it a pork roll. The rest of the world doesn't care and just thinks of it as generic-SPAM.

Blasphemy. There is nothing generic about it.

Which is funny... because people I know in the industry, connections again, are telling me we export most of our milk as powdered to the Asian markets. I haven't been able to verify that though.

Well sure, because Asia is short of food production. Europe, however, makes a LOT of food. It's an agricultural boom area.

Guess I'll have to keep an eye open then. Moving is hard as we have lots of family in the area.

I can't leave NJ for the same reason. My fiance is very close with her family.

Yep, I'm like your fiance. I spent most of my childhood moving from place-to-place. Didn't have a permanent home until middle school. Thankfully that was in my parent's hometown with lots of family close by.
