Beirut explosion: Port officials under house arrest as rescue efforts continue
A number of Beirut port officials are being placed under house arrest pending an investigation into Tuesday's huge explosion, Lebanon's government says.
The blast killed at least 135 people and injured more than 4,000 others. A two-week state of emergency has begun. President Michel Aoun said the blast was caused by 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate stored unsafely in a warehouse. Customs chief Badri Daher said his agency called for the chemical to be removed, but "this did not happen". "We leave it to the experts to determine the reasons," he said. Ammonium nitrate is used as a fertiliser in agriculture and as an explosive. Opening an emergency cabinet meeting on Wednesday, President Aoun said: "No words can describe the horror that has hit Beirut last night, turning it into a disaster-stricken city". -

Some judge had ordered the ship unloaded, and never allowed it to be moved afterwards.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-53678747Awesome, wish they would do that here. Thats all my kids eat and I hate it. They won't listen to me either. I tried to get them to eat rice and beans and they refused. They just refused to eat, even when I know they were hungry. Their mom finally just gave them pop tarts:(

That's too nice... In my family, it's bad cop, worse cop. Fortunately, where food is involved, it's rarely an issue. My 9yo even likes Collard greens with ham and some spices.

Yeah I remember what happened in my family if me or my brother didn't eat our food. dad would eat it and we were just out of luck and going hungry for the night. I think that happened once and after that we ate everything we had for fear of losing it.

Same here. The problem was when I was in wrestling during 7-10 grade, I had a pretty small diet due to trying to always make weight. I feel bad for my mother now because of the crap I put her through in this are. It kinda went like this:
Me: "Man, were having that again!" (think pork chops braised in peach juice. YUCK).
Mom: "You don't like it you don't have to eat it."
Me: "OK, no problem"
Mom: "You don't get nothing else either"
Me: "Ok, have to make weight" Leave dinner table and go outside or to bedroom.Next morning:
Mom - "Your dinner from last night is still waiting"
Me - "That's ok you can eat it for lunch. Still not eating that!"
Mom - "Nope, your eating that!"
Me - "Nope"
Mom - "You don't get anything else until that's gone"
Me - "Ok, it will go bad before I eat again then"
Mom - "Fine"After that incident, I didn't have to eat those type of pork chops ever again.
Longest stretch we did this for was three days and yes, I didn't eat anything but did have water and OJ. Major PITA for my mom to deal with.
Unfortunately Mom gave in. She was happy when I stopped wrestling.

I mostly consider that a different situation with some minor overlap.

Kerala plane crash: 16 dead after Air India plane breaks in two at Calicut
An Air India Express plane with 191 people on board has crashed at an airport in the southern state of Kerala, killing at least 16 people, officials say.
The Boeing 737, en route from Dubai, skidded off the runway in rain and broke in two after landing at Calicut airport, aviation officials said. The flight was repatriating Indians stranded by the coronavirus crisis. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was "pained by the plane accident". MK Raghavan, a lawmaker from Calicut, told the BBC at least 16 people died in the crash. Most people on board the Boeing 737 jet have been evacuated, with dozens of them taken to hospital with injuries, some serious, authorities said. -
