I need a Server 2008 R2 Datacenter VM. I've done some research but is there any way to convert Standard to Datacenter? I've found ways that say it can be done but you have to go to Enterprise first and then Datacenter...I don't have a key for Standard. Mine is for Datacenter.

My home has been on a domain since NT 4 in 1998. I've basically never been without one. At some point I moved onto the NTG distributed domain. So I am attached to globally disparate AD controllers in Toronto, Virginia and Iowa via Pertino.

I'm doing an in-place upgrade via mounting an ISO virtually. Seems to be working.

From a licensing perspective that's pretty expensive. Unless your DC's are sitting on someone else's VM host with a DataCenter license on it.

So who were the winners?

You can't do that. Licenses are by company. You can't use a "free" VM from someone else's service license. There is no way to skirt the double license cost for a DC cluster.

Oh, I won all of them. sorry guys.
