Anyone else here use HP 800 G1 SFFs? These things have been a near nightmare for me.

We use them with Tripplite Displayport to VGA converters and they come with USB mice.

Since day one we've had issues where the displayport attached monitor will just decide to stop working. Mirroring the displays or unplugging the adapter will bring it back 100% of the time, but this is a huge pain, and my users don't want to be bothered and I can't blame them.

Additionally, I have a handful of units where the mice will just not work. It does not care if it's the OEM HP corded mouse, or a MS Corded mouse or a Logitech Wireless mouse. The only solution is to either disable/enable the mouse device or unplug replug.

All of our PCs are either 6200 SFF or 6300 SFF. We have deployed many with multiple monitors. We have used different brands of the Display Port adapters and have never had a single problem.

I would buy another brand adapter to test... Another option is installing an actual video card.

In the past I did install dual port video cards and NEVER had an issue (short of a bad board - which just happens sometimes).

            I've just ordered an 800 G1 tower.

Is DVI dead now, but VGA lives?

There's no benefit to my company to replace 100+ VGA monitors. As they die they can be replaced with whatever is usable at the time.

That said - the HP 800 G1 SFF comes with one on board VGA and a display port. So if you want to use DVI, you're stuck buying a Displayport to DVI convertor or installing a video card.
