How Lollipop Reinvents Android
-
I can't figure out why "multi user" is not listed first and in flashing lights. That's huge. Graphical overhaul, sure, that's nice. But multi-user devices redefines the device itself.
-
That multi-user feature is really big when you consider that Android is starting to appear on desktop devices.
-
That link is broken for me
-
Some pretty nice features in there.

I was surprised with the amount of changes. Finally split screen will work on more programs.
It's nice to see that advances are being made to the OS that previously was only available if you rooted the phone.

Split-screen sounds like it could be useful on tablets, but I can't see using it on a phone. Just seems pointless there...

@thanksaj think copy and paste. The other reason I wish it worked with other apps, is when someone keeps texting me and i can't do anything else.

I guess I can see that. But I just hold the home button down and switch between apps that way.

@thanksaj Yep..you could do that...and while you're at it..you could use only one PC monitor and do the same thing. But that would suck now wouldn't it?

AJ is the ultimate "more than one screen" user.

You don't multitask on a phone like you do a PC though. I'm never doing 3 or 4 things at the same time on my phone. In sequence, yes. But I use them differently...

I only don't because it works so poorly. I sure wish that I could.

I have no need to be watching a video while texting on my phone. Besides, I rarely text via my phone anymore. I'm doing more and more though Google Voice and Hangouts nowadays.

Lollipop broke my wife's Nexus tablet.

Is it the new Nexus 6? They are saying that the new device that just was announced is the first to officially support Lollipop.
-
It's a Nexus 7, about 15 months old. She says when it turned on it said something like 'click here to install an update', and a bit later she is on Lollipop and about to throw it out of the window. She certainly didn't install it on purpose, so I assume it must be supported. It might even have upgraded without asking her, I'm not sure.

Oh interesting. I need to look at my Nexus 7 and see what it says.

@Carnival-Boy Well that is truly disappointing!
