Thanks. It still blows my mind! No idea how that happened!

Only takes one person. A single thread with a few hundred posts in it would be trivial to generate a ton of down votes.

Scott, it downvoted the EXACT number of upvotes I had, plus one to put me in the negative. I don't think so. Besides, no one here cares enough to do that.

I don't know if it's related,.. but I have two messages saying that the forum has been updated in just the last 2 hours...

They were service restarts, no changes. That message was somehow triggered by the restart.

You have no idea how much I want to upvote that.

Yeah, but other than you, I don't think anyone here has the expertise to write that kind of script, not to mention time or desire. It's almost like someone downvoted a post, it wiped out everything up to that point, and started over.
That's a bit uncalled for, AJ. So we're all chopped liver that can't do diddley?

Yeah, really not a dramatic programming task. I think most of the people here could probably do that.

So you are admitting to doing it?

Seriously, get over it.

That is in no way the logical extension of that statement.

On a serious note, uncouple the reputation thing because up and down voting posts is beneficial.

It is but we don't control the code, sadly. That would be great. It is nice to have a "post reputation", but a person metric is bad.

+1 LOL
me too upvote please

The only one that cared about it was AJ.
Because he had to harp about it so much someone obviously took pains to annoy him about it as much as he was annoying the rest of us.
Go edit the css or something for the profile page to not show the reputation.

Wait... there was a reputation function on this forum? I thought the up/down vote was just for those posts. Good to know I won't be missing anything.

Yes, it meant nothing and everyone realized that. Or nearly so. But until we can make the points not be applied to people, it just can't be there
