Also don't get on the computer/phone the last hour before you go to bed it will keep you up much longer. both because of the backlight and because it distracts you.
This is something I need to start doing!
I do that in bed. No avoiding that. @Dominica is really bad about that.

This is easy for me... we have very little tech in the bedroom - I leave my phone in the living room and no TV. My wife does bring her kindle to bed though.
-
@Dashrender I have my desktop in the bedroom plus we both have phones and tablets that we tend to bring to bed.

@scottalanmiller I 9gag until I fall asleep. For me, it's much more effective than reading.

True. No idea where I'll take a walk. Besides, I have no one to hang out with, so going for a walk is not something I think I can make myself do.
Hi A.J. A problem with no one to hang out specially walking or doing exercise is always problem..That is also my big problem during morning or during weekend my room mates don't like to go out walking they would love to sleep than waking up early to walk outside. so i do it alone i bring some music...

Bwahaha. You should have linked it rather than only typing it, it would have offset that a little bit.

So I got less than 4 hours sleep last night and woke up and it made no difference how I felt. I got to sleep a little before 4AM and was up around 7:30AM. I'm not groggy, or really even tired, at all. There have been times in my life I could get less than 4 hours of sleep and the next day was a craps shoot for if I'd be functional. This is the first time in my life I know I can go to bed between 2 and 3AM every night, night after night, and be fine...
-
Are you worried you'll crash or something?
I'm definitely a low energy kind of guy. I need at least 8 hours of sleep a day, and even with that, I always feel tired in the evenings.
After I've had my tea and done the washing up and a bit of housework, it's around 8pm and I never feel like doing anything more than read a book, watch the telly, or go down the pub.
I've got friends who renovate houses, do MBAs, start businesses, become Kung-Fu masters, all between the hours of 8pm and 1am. I'd love to be more productive.
Gimme some of your energy @ajstringham !

I am able to live on basically 3-4 hours every night as long as they are a good three hours. Eventually I need a six or seven hour night to absorb the sleep loss but six nights of three hours and one of seven a week is good for me indefinitely.
