Are They Getting Sillier?
-
Is it just me or is Spiceworks getting sillier in their stock photos for threads? They started off pretty business and serious, but I've gotten the feeling that the policies have changed and they are getting to use the pics to make jokes more and more often.
-
Yeah, I noticed that too. They are updating threads with stock photos much more often now, too.

Oh yeah, they have moved to a pretty much continuous "photo adding" process. It used to be just one or two threads, now it is pretty much any popular thread. It's a nice change but boy is that a lot of work to do all of that.
In theory we can do that here too, but no one is doing it.

hmm.. this makes me think of something someone mentioned to me the other day.
Friend says
5 years ago I was happy with my 3g wireless service, I could surf, etc and life was good. Then along comes 4g and man - things really fly now... but after 3-4 months things are back to how they were on the 3g network speed wise - why might you ask - because the websites have just added more crap to the pages, making my phone download that much more junk making it slow again.thoughts?
-
@Dashrender yes, many sites just add more and more "content", mostly in the form of fluff, to fill the data connections that are widely available.
-
I hope we don't go down that path here!
-
It would be great if MangoLassi remained light and responsive.
-
I don't like the new interface. The "highlighted" threads are much less advertised in the little space they are in now. I preferred the old feel.

Don't even get me started. I have flagged so many of those that this one is pretty tame. When you use pics of people being disabled, you've kind of went over the line.

Flagged so many of what? What did I miss?

Behinds the scenes by me. I've done quite a few where the pic is actually offensively linked to the topic at hand. They get pulled quickly, but it has been awhile now.
-
I don't recell having noticed any of those yet. I don't tend to see many of them, though, as the screens that I use are the ones that don't show the pictures.
-
They hired a new guy to do just the photos and featured threads, and he isn't very good at it.
-
It might be silly, but that ram pic made me giggle. It would be nice if they didn't go into the actually offensive realm, however.
-
@Dominica The ram one was good.

It's a play on words. I have to admit, I would have used the same. Or maybe a RAM pickup truck. Geeks git it.
^see what I did there

Tries, but fails at times. There was a pic that was pulled a week or two ago that was a poor choice for a thread about disabled users.

I used to think the photos were auto done by a script. since they just seem to be some of the first images that would come up if you used google images with keywords from the post, and they just embedded a source url. I'm just waiting for someone to sue them for mis-use of images since I doubt the get permission and just link to it with credit hoping it's okay.

Thanks for the laugh but seriously RAM & SQL
I thought it was @RAM.
