We've made our first real stop in Utica, NY. Got pizza, dropped off the kids. Have a little bit before we continue on but should be leaving for Rochester shortly.
La Roma's?

Geographically, they're pretty close to each other.
I know I was just there

You don't even get the good pizza, with the good pepperoni on it!

I'm maybe twenty minutes from Rome. Utica is a little better. Dominica'd dad works in Rome. Both are Mohawk Valley pizza areas. The Mohawk Valley is the best pizza anywhere. I prefer the pizza from the east end of the valley the most, this is the west end. But the MV is the best micro-region for pizza anywhere.

I get turned around there pretty easily. Where I live civilization is along the coast line so you pretty much either go north or south. You can go west to the Orlando area, but there is just swamp in between.

Delta Lake Inn

Its excellent and I am not just saying that. Quite a few of my guests said it was the best Italian they have had. Prices are pretty reasonable, too. $10-15 a plate for most dishes
-
I like Rome, it's a nice town.

Yeah, According to my fiance, it kind of went downhill after they closed the base out there. They are doing some renovations to some of the really older buildings now which is nice.
I really like the landscape out there, though.
-
Yes, the base was the economic "base" for the region. But Utica has become a center for refugees from around the world and that is revitalizing the area now.
-
I have visited Utica my whole life. My mom and all of her side of the family is from there. I like Utica, too. It just happen to work out that Kristen and I have family right next to each other. It makes the Holidays much easier.
-
Okay we are done in Utica and are getting back on the road now. Will be out to pick up @art_of_shred and @Minion-Queen in 2.75 hours. So hoping that we arrive around 8:30PM. That will get us on the road heading south a full four hours earlier than we had originally been planning. That's awesome, that will make the full drive so much better.

We are running a bit later than we'd hoped, but we are past Syracuse.
