@eddiejennings We use DCW for everything now. They're great.

I've had experience with CDW (average customer service experience) and Insight (average experience for me, terrible for @scottalanmiller) for Windows Server, Windows 10, SQL server, and MSDN licensing.
What other VARs have you folk used for your Microsoft licensing needs? Has your general experience with said VAR been positive or negative?
I try to avoid VARs and would much prefer a pure reseller... but I know I know.. a rare thing these days, because the margin on hardware/software is razor thin.

Either (VAR or just reseller) are acceptable for this question.

Ingram Micro
Tech Data
e-itstore.com (but they will call you every week to see if there is anything you need) -
Great experience with Insight Canada account managers. Not so great experience with CDW.
Ingram Micro and Synnex were ok, RMAs always were a pita.

Avoid CDW

I have used GHA Technologies
https://www.gha-associates.com/
They have been great -
Hi everyone.
just a note that it is not the company you work with that makes the difference.
for every person who "hates" CDW there is another that "loves" CDW and that is due to the REP that they work with.
it's 99.9% the rep that makes the difference. Most of the resellers out there do the exact same thing. They just package it differently.
if you have a great rep that you like - GREAT! Stick with them.
if you have a crappy rep who is a newb and doesn't seem to know what they are doing either ask for a new rep who has been around 5 years or more or ..... come to me and I have a BUNCH of options for you of great reps I can hook you up with in a few different companies.
Scott Alan Miller can attest .
and if the reseller doesn't listen when you ask for a rep who has been around 5 years or more... that means they don't care about your business - MOVE AWAY. -

What impressed me about Insight was that I went through 2 account managers in a year and they all provided consistent excellent service. I figured they must have a really good training system in place.
-
@flaxking you are very lucky.
good ! -

They do not. Insight is the worst. You got lucky because they bought a good company but those people are fleeing like crazy as Insight's culture is so bad.
When only used Insight because they bought our good account manager's company, PCM. When our account manager left Insight, we were so happy to never have to deal with those people again.
Insight isn't just bad customer service, they are just a terrible company.

In the US we have to use Insight Canada for account managers. And they were terrible. We've had so many customers totally screwed because they lost their licenses, had no way to be reached. At one point, even Microsoft had no way to reach Insight!
