@Dashrender said in LinPhone on android hard to answer if screen protector installed:

I have several users who have screen protectors installed. They all have a near impossible time swiping the answer "button" when the app is ringing.

anyone hear of this, or any other app having this type of issue?

The users claim LinPhone is the only app having this problem.

You know this is an absolute bullshit response right?

FFS, that is not anything works. Apps have zero control over that type of thing.

Yeah, I know. I do realize this is very likely an issue caused completely by their screen protector - I hated those things back when I used to use them, they made swiping a bitch.

No screen protector I have ever used does this. I'm sure some really shitty ones exist, but I have never seen them.

I buy the 3-pack box of the glass screen protectors on Amazon for $5 and never have issues.

The users are looking for excuses and think you'll accept any wild claim that they make.

Yes, I've had them make answering ANY phone a problem in the past.

If the screen protector is the problem then they have to remove it. It's as simple as that.

If it BYOD then it's their problem. If it's a company device, why are they having screen protectors in the first place? Rip it off.

I've never used one of the newer glass ones, only the plastic ones like 5+ years ago, maybe more than than.

This is definitely BYOD, we're only in this situation because of Covid-19. otherwise we'd likely never have people working at home on their own devices, just not in the management's mental wheelhouse.

Ahh, that explains it. Maybe offer them a cash reward for wear and tear of their own devices as well as a new screen protector.

Wow, this is MUCH milder a response than I was expecting.

Nope, we'll offer them to simply stay home and not work, and not get paid.
