Remove Social Media Icons like Google+ from Flawless Wordpress Theme by Goodlayers

For instance if you add
display: none
to any element it isn't visible anymore.So you have to find the class/id of the thing you want to hide first. Make a rule for that where you hide the element and the work is done.
For instance if I wanted to hide the ML logo on this forum I'll add this css:
.forum-logo { display: none; }

Here's an example with my Wife's blog, where I use custom CSS to heavily alter the look of the site:
Removing the widget titles:
.widget-title { display:none; }
In your example, you'd find which element displays the the icon, and not display it. I mean it completely depends on the theme and how it uses CSS, but that's generally how you'd go about it. I've not used that theme before. Do you have an example I can look at?
Haha, you beat me to it.

there isn't one in this case without editing the PHP, taking us back to the beginning of why I did it this way

Doesn't editing PHP files directly get overwritten when themes are updated? I found that the best way to customize or edit themes is to add custom CSS in the appropriate custom CSS location.
YOu are using CSS to detect the PHP and disable it? That would be really complex.
No, it doesn't work that way.
But it's extremely easy and is the best way to do it.
I'll post more soon, putting kids to bed / bedtime routine.
I'm with @Obsolesce on this one. Better to hide elements by adding CSS rules instead of changing the code. That way it will survive updates.
I would if it had an element. It's part of a block that has one, but I don't want to hide the rest.

I guess we'll never know. I don't even see the G+ icon on their preview...
But yeah, if there is no way to target or single out that icon via CSS, and they don't provide a way to hide or show icons in the Theme settings, then you are forced into performing bad practices in editing the php files directly.
-
@Obsolesce Where did you find the preview? Link?

Yeah, they have it all in the same element. And if the settings don't present options to show/hide specific social media icons, then you have to do what you have to do.

@Obsolesce I couldn't find any settings for them at all. Its' a terrible template to work with.

Yes, if it's like the demo I see the problem. The people who made the template should have added a different id to each social media icon so you could style them independently.

Here's those options with the theme I like to use:
Extensive list:
-
@Obsolesce where did you find that?

Maybe just dump that bad theme all together.

This is the one I use for my blog:
https://www.cryoutcreations.eu/wordpress-themes/nirvanaBut I think most of their themes all have the same options.
For my wife's blog, I heavily customized the Twenty-Seventeen theme.

I'd love to, but I just host the site and help out a little.
