Installing and Setting up Pertino!

Sign up for an account online, download client to computer, install, sign in with said account, done.

You probably heard from Scott it's complicated. Don't believe him.
-
I tried it and failed, so I'm not sure it's super easy. Will try again after some tips on this thread.

What issue did you run into?
-
The first problem was that we were running GFI Cloud web protection on the client, which was blocking access to the apps.pertino.com login script. I resolved that, but it took a while. Then I couldn't install it on one of our 2008R2 servers (but could install it ok on a different 2008 server). I can't remember why exactly. Then I kind of run out of time. Will pick this up again soon.

@ajstringham do all the accounts connect in any way? What I'm more asking is if I need to sign into an existing account, or create a new one and link it to the current NTG setup? All members of staff who would know the answer are currently too busy.

AH! That's why it's complicated. Ok, you need to have Scott send you an invite from the NTG Pertino account (heck, I could still do it if I remember the password correctly). Once you have the account, install the program and sign in. After that, you'll need to go to the Pertino adapter in Network and Sharing center and change the DNS server settings to the IPs of to-win-ad1 and mi-win-ad2. I assume you're doing this to join a machine to the NTG domain, yes?

@ajstringham Yes. What medium would be used to receive this invitation? If it's email, should I be setting up a new email for this machine?

He can't sign up for an account. He works for NTG. He just needs to log in to the existing account.

What went wrong? It should be completely transparent.

Don't make a new account. You want to be on our network. Art has the creds.

No invite to use. It's not that complicated. Just log in using the creds from Art and click the download icon up top and double click on the installer that downloads.
-
@scottalanmiller Alright, I'll do that.
-
He is unavailable at the moment, he'll be back this evening. I'll get that set up tonight.
-
I'll email you the creds.
-
Okay, sweet
-
Sent.
-
It's all good, has been done for hours, I just got back from being busy though.
-
Awesome. Thanks.
Now to get everything else set up

If you want, go ahead to Drobo.com and download the latest console software and get that installed on there too.
