Deepin on Fedora 30
-
Use the Fedora 30 Net install ISO.

Nice.
How well does it perform compared to the others?

Performance, no idea, it's installed as a vm.
I've never used Deepin on bare-metal, only tried it in a vm!

Now I am confused. Deepin is both an OS and a desktop environment (like KDE and gnome)?

That's correct.
Deepin OS and Deepin DE. Deepin DE is the only desktop environment option of Deepin OS.

@scottalanmiller Thanks. At first, I thought it was only a DE. Then I saw your post about the installation screens and thought I was wrong; it was just an OS. Now I get it LOL

It was a full OS that made its own DE. Then they released the DE so that it could be installed on other OSes.

It's very similar to Mint + Cinnamon. However, Deepin is way more its own OS than Mint is. Mint is very openly a "big tweak of Ubuntu LTS plus two special in house DEs", whereas Deepin is a fully custom OS end to end that is built loosely from Debian sources.

Upgraded from F29 to 30, also switched to Deepin.
So far, I'm liking the Deepin desktop.
